YSU's Academic Progress Rate (APR)
« on: June 07, 2015, 11:03:46 PM »
It is my understanding that the NCAA requires an APR of 930 to avoid a post-season ban, as occurred with UWM MBB.  It is my understanding that the Horizon league had two programs with multiyear APRs below the 930 threshold, and both of them are at YSU:  Men's Indoor track(916), Men's Outdoor track (916).

UIC was at 926 last year, but had a multiyear APR above 930.

The HL had four teams in the "danger zone" from 930-939, and one of those four is YSU Men's Cross Country.

It seems like there is reason for concern, if this information is correct.

So this mangy cat is finally out of the proverbial bag eh?  From what I understand this has been a problem for a while.  But again "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain".

Are you sure that you are not reading that backwards? I see our CC team ranked in the top 10%. Maybe I am reading it wrong?

MultiYear APR is the only thing you really need to look at from year to year.  I believe they calculate based upon the previous 4 years, In essence one good year can't save you.

What Paingwin said.

One bad year won't ruin you, nor one good year save you.

Yes.  The Men's Cross Country APR is 932.
