When you have this Disease ...
... you wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep because you are too hyped for the game.
... you drive all night to get home at 4:15am after a deflating loss last Saturday, and a week later you are kicking yourself for not making the trip to Macomb this weekend.
... you see your All-American defensive star standing on the sideline with one arm hanging limp from his side as the opposition mounts a tremendous comeback. Then you watch as he returns with seconds left in the game and make a key tackle to help force the SIU into OT - you realize winners aren't always defined by the final count on the scoreboard!
... you see your underachieving offensive line, already playing without 3 starters, and then watch as two of them can barely pick themselves up off the ground and put weight on one of their ankles. Yet they gimp back up to the line of scrimmage to lay it on the line for the TEAM - you realize the outcome may not be favorable but you have not doubt in your mind "our boys are fighting with a spirit that will not yield!!!"
... you listen to other folks criticize, complain, ridicule, and blame but you can't help but feel this TEAM will epitomize the heart and soul of the Town and the School which they represent! NO QUIT and no doubt will continue to fight through adversity and make us proud to be part of the TEAM.
... you realize the improbable yet still believe in the possible!!!
... finally, you understand that you don't want to find the cure for this particular disease 'cause there's nothing like the excitement and anticipation that comes from that passion you have when watching your team compete!
Good Luck Guins - looking forward to watching you guys lay it on the line today!!!
