Detroit, Mich. -- Senior guard Cameron Morse was named Preseason All-Horizon League First-Team for the second straight season, and the YSU men's basketball team was predicted to finish seventh as the Horizon League released preseason all-league teams and preseason poll at the Horizon League Basketball Media Day at Little Caesars Arena.

A 2017 All-Horizon League First-Team selection, Morse led the league in scoring for the second straight year with 23.2 points per game against league opponents last year. Oakland was tabbed as the 2018 preseason favorite with 453 points and 31 first-place votes while defending Horizon League Tournament Champion Northern Kentucky was voted second with 414 points and 10 first-place votes. This is certainly logical, based on YSU past performance.  This will however, not be more of the same.  I look for substantial improvement, if not contending for the title this year, then next for sure. Go Coach Calhoun and the Penguins MBB!
