Youngstown State Athletics is introducing the #PenguinNationChallenge, an incentive-based referral program that allows current football season-ticket holders a chance to receive prizes to help bolster our season-ticket roster for the upcoming 2018 season. Only new season-ticket holders are eligible (may not have held season tickets in 2017, but could have held season tickets prior to 2017 season) to be referred by current season-ticket holders for them to earn awards.

This incentive-based referral program helps the Penguins family, friends and co-workers grow our new season-ticket holders. The home opener is on Sept. 1 against Butler and that will be the final day you can refer anyone for season tickets.

Any referral that was made before June 30 will not be accepted for the program.

Fans are encouraged to use the #PenguinNationChallenge hashtag on your social media accounts to bring awareness to the upcoming football season.

For more information contact Andrew Wingard in the YSU Athletics Ticket Office at (330) 941-7466 or via email at rtwingard@ysu.edu.

For each referral, current season-ticket holders will receive:

1 season ticket = YSU game day hat
2 season tickets = YSU Athletics Under Armour Polo
4 season tickets = Under Armour Gameday polo and autographed football
    6 season tickets = 2018 M-63 Tailgate spot
8 season tickets = Four complimentary WVU tickets and YSU cage jacket
10 season tickets = Meal with the YSU Football Team

YSU1 I'm not sure, but as far as in my memory it is (and that is going back to 2010).

Second thing, Andrew Wingard is the new manager of Athletic Ticket Sales. Young guy, and I met him. So ironically I bought season tickets this year for the first time (all my tickets before were free from being an undergraduate student and then my master's degree). Now I am still going to be going for an MBA here soon, but went ahead and bought the tickets anyway. My now fiance just graduated in May and so we could for sure sit next to one another I went ahead and bought two season tickets. Wish I had known about this before I bought them though (I bought them on 7-10-18 and had not known about the promotion till I showed up there).

Also serendipitous, the ticket booth ladies were both busy with other people buying tickets when I showed up. They even seemed like older VIPs, yet Andrew was walking to the office saw me waiting there and started talking to me. I explained I was there to purchase season tickets and he took me into his office. Had a short conversation. Told him about myself, he told me about him and I purchased my tickets. He explained he had a master's degree in sports administration from Vandy if I recall. But anyway, he seems like a real asset to the department. Also explained when he was a grad student he got his start in the same type of position for Vandy.

Smart guy, with alot of good ideas and energy. Will be good for the athletic department. I like him already.

He will definitely be an upgrade that's for sure.
