Youngstown State junior third baseman Blaze Glenn has been named the Nike Horizon League Batter of the Week for the period of April 1-7, the league office announced on Monday.
This is the second time this season that the Toronto, Ohio, native has earned the league's weekly offensive award. He was also the Batter of the Week on Feb. 25 after the second week of the season.

Glenn went 2-for-4 with a pair of walks and an RBI in a 4-3 win over Kent State on Wednesday, and he delivered a clutch RBI single in the ninth inning that forced extra innings. The junior then went 4-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk, two runs scored and a career-high five RBIs in YSU's 7-3 series-opening win over UIC on Friday. In game two against the Flames, Glenn was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored to help lead the Penguins to a 6-5 victory. He also went 2-for-4 in the series finale on Sunday with a solo home run and two RBIs.
For the year, Glenn is batting .250 and leads YSU with four home runs, eight doubles, 22 RBIs and a .435 slugging percentage. He also has 11 stolen bases in 13 attempts, and he has hit safely in eight consecutive games. Glenn ranks among the top 10 in the conference in RBIs, doubles, home runs, walks and steals.
Glenn and the Penguins have five games on the schedule this week. YSU will play at Penn State on Tuesday before returning home to host Toledo at Eastwood Field on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The Penguins will then travel to Milwaukee for a three-game Horizon League series over the weekend.
