Coach Doug Kuberski was Southland Coach-of-the-year AND National Tenpin Coaches Association Division I Coach of the Year. Kuberski is just the 2nd head-coach to win a national DI title. In our DI history (1981); prior to this year, coach Jim Tressel was the only other Penguin coach to be named a DI national coach of the year. Tressel was a two-time finalist (1st & 2nd) with coach Jon Heacock also a finalist (2nd). Former head-coach (and current president) Tressel won the award in 1997.
