Too many turnovers, mostly steals as we tried to drive to the basket or tried to get the ball inside on difficult entry passes that were low probability to get the ball inside through the defense.  Also not much good outside shooting which has hurt us often this year. And defensive rebounds seemed to disappear in the 2nd half. Hope for a better showing tomorrow.

Did not play a good game. Gave up too many 2nd or 3rd chance baskets. Missed too many FT. Lost too many balls when driving toward to the basket. Poor outside shooting.
With all those bad plays, we only lost by 2. IUPUI was not a good team tonight, but we were just worse.

Worse loss of the year losing at home with IUPUI best player fouling out and their 2nd leading scorer out with an injury.
Can't believe Mayes went 0 for 10.  Some guys are trying to force the action when they need the extra pass .

half court offense is poor. most of the time 4 guys are standing outside the 3 point line.  easy to defend and tough to get an open look.  offense has very little motion.

I agree that we just stand at the 3 point line with 4 players, wait for an open look that rarely comes, shoot the 3 and get back on defense. Other teams get inside and mid range shots that are open and make them. If 3's aren't falling for us we are in trouble like yesterday. Need more than layups and 3's to win. Yesterday it seems like we worked hard to get inside and it resulted in steals and turnovers on difficult passes and tight quarters. And the other team wasn't all that athletic or tall.

Terrible loss that shouldn't have been.  YSU should clearly be the better team.  That run at the end of the first half by IUPUI really set the tone for the rest of the game.  YSU just lost their intensity and toughness during that run and the rest of the game.  What looked like was going to be a blowout and maybe one of YSU's best games of the year sure turned the opposite direction.  YSU missed a couple point blank layups and DQ going just 3-6 at the line hurt as well.

And in the end, Akuchie doesn't get to double figures and YSU can't hold a team to 70 or less and that's usually the recipe for a loss.

With NKU & Oakland both winning, even if YSU had pulled it out they wouldn't have had a shot at the top 4 seeds and getting that opening round bye.  The loss though does mean YSU will have a losing record in league play now doesn't guarantee a winning record overall for the year.

I expect YSU to regroup and come back and win tonight, get a home game and win the opening round of the conference tournament, but I'm not sure if this team can then beat 3 good teams in a row.

This team is just hard to figure out.  There's spurts when they can look unstoppable then spurts when no one can score and they get sloppy with the ball.  The number of turnovers in both games this weekend were ugly are concerning.  I thought both games were very similar other than YSU didn't allow IUPUI to go on the big runs they did in game one, they were a little tougher, and shot better at the FT line.

Game 2 was also that magic number of YSU keeping a team to 70 or less that.  I just looked back and YSU was 15-3 last year when holding a team to 70 or less and 10-1 this year.  That means YSU only only 3 other games last year and 4 this year when they didn't.  That's pretty telling.  This team wins when it plays good defense.

I wish DQ could get back his shooting form.  He's only shooting at 34% and 24% from 3 compared to 42% and 31% last year.  Really need him to play better to make a run in the tourney.  You have to wonder what he's going to do next year now.

Glad to see them get the W on Saturday and end the regular season winning 6 of the last 7 and guaranteeing a winning season, just a shame they gave several games away in the closing mins or the season would have felt a whole lot different.
