YSU - W. IL MBB
« on: November 26, 2022, 02:09:41 PM »
No ESPN coverage but looks like free streaming through WI's site https://goleathernecks.com/watch/?Live=1692&type=Live

YSU is a 5.5 point favorite.  WI is 2-3.  They've lost 3 straight; lost to DePaul by 12, only put up 37 points in a 33-point loss to Central FL then lost to Texas Rio Grande Valley by 1.

Hoping for a better performance by YSU after the dud against Navy.

Does anyone know what the technical on WI was before the game started?  I couldn't make out what the announcer said and Robb Schmidt must not have been aware in the first couple possessions.

The technical was for the shot clocks not working.

Good win for YSU to head into 2 tough road Horizon League games against NKU & Wright State.

The game started as a continuation of the Navy game.  WI hit some 3's and YSU gave up a lot of easy layups and was down 8.  Then YSU's defense stepped up and really locked them down to take a 6-point lead at the half.  YSU continued that momentum in the 2nd half and grew the lead to 26.  I think WI got it down to 17 or 18 then YSU finished strong to win by 24.

Malik Green was tremendous with 21.  After a slow start, Adrian Nelson was big in the 2nd half finishing with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals! Nelson is averaging a double-double.  Thought Lovelace had a nice game as well as Rush and McBride.

Watched the game in the fog of the buckeye loss but defense picked it up like mud said.

Got to be happy when you get a 20 point + win on the road against any d1 team.

Malik Green needs to stay aggressive going forward as he was tonight.

Brandon Rush has been good of the bench.  Great slashing to the hoop and has a decent 3 ball. Would like him  add the in between game with pull ups from 15.
