Coach Slocum on Fox Sports Radio - Zakk and Jack

Coach Slocum was on Fox Sports Radio's national morning show on Tuesday.

The host twices calls him as the coach of the Youngstown State Pirates - that's what happens when you make a rock jock a sports talk host.  He got it right by the end. Zakk says he started his radio career in Youngstown.

Coach says the staff won't take calls from coaches to talk about how to beat Butler.  Support our league team.

Coach wants more teams in the tourney - maybe 72.  Sticking up for more mid-majors.

Wishes Butler and VCU were playing the big conference boys.

About six minutes - no real revelations but some good pub for the Pirates.

I heard him Monday or Tuesday on 93.7 KDKA - Pittsburgh during evening commute. They gave him a nice long segment, mentioned we were the last team to beat Butler and even used our correct mascot.

He had a slip of his own and called VCU "Valpo" a couple times.

This so good for Slocum's program. This is not only going to help recruiting with name recognition, but this tells it all:

"The other day (against Florida), Kendrick and I were watching the game," Ward said. "We only watched the first five minutes. We turned off the TV and went to the gym to shoot. Knowing they're in the Final Four and we beat them motivates us to the nth degree."
