Not that anyone cares about my personal life, but I missed the Pitt Game (but purchased the ticket) because of some production issues at the plant, so I decided to move the planned vacation day to today so I could make it up to Y-town for the UNI game, but the production schedule changed due to different orders ( I am an engineer for BASF The Chemical Company in Savannah, GA) and I was supposed to go in on Sunday, but found a clever way out of the Sunday work requirement at about 1:00 PM today....looked at flights but they are $571 and that is a little pricey for a single game, so I decided to drive it $200 with tolls round trip) which would have put me into Y-town at 2:00 AM with only one fuel stop and no traffic issues. I figured I could sleep in a little and then be ready for an wild tailgate party (like 2006 JMU tailgate), but I lost the wheel bearing on my car on my way home from work to pack for the trip. The wheel bearings are only 2 months old and they are OEM parts but catastrophic failure with only 2000 miles is described as infantile mortality on the bathtub curve. There was some sort of a tolerance issue. Damnit. Honda must not be buying Timken bearings.
I made it home for 2 home games last year (would have been 3 if we didn't blow the Missouri State game). we lost both games, so what is the point of all of this?
I am now drinking a beer at 3:30 PM on a Friday to let everyone know that since I'm not going to make it, we will win this game because every-time I come up there we lose. Does anyone have a pilot's license that is swinging thru the Savannah area? Son-of a-****
Now that I mentioned we lose every time I make a game do you think anyone will take me up on the offer?
I should start a penguinpower fund if anyone wants to donate toward a plane ticket! I just can't do $571 for the game with a young family.
