Indianapolis, Ind. -- For the second straight week, junior Kamren Belin has been named the Horizon League Newcomer of the Week, the leauge announced on Monday (Feb. 4).
Last week, Belin averaged 17.5 point and eight rebounds per game and shot 52.1 percent from the field and 60 percent from 3-point range as the Penguins went 1-1.
For the week, Belin was 9-for-15 from 3-point range on the week.
Belin set a career high with six 3-pointers en route to a 19-point effort against Detroit, on Feb. 1. He also added seven rebounds in a losing cause.
The Atlanta, Ga., native helped the Penguins topple Valparaiso, finishing with an efficient 16 points on Jan. 30.
In conference play, Belin is averaging 13.3 points per game, hitting 44.7 percent of his attempts from beyond the 3-point arc.
Over the last five games, Belin is averaging 18 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor.
The Penguins visit Cleveland State, Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m.
