The Youngstown State athletic department and women's basketball program are proud to announce that Saturday will be "Brandi Brown Appreciation Day" at Beeghly Center as the Penguins host Wright State at 2:05 p.m.
There will be 500 T-shirts given out to fans at the game with the Youngstown State "Y" logo on the front and "Brown 42" on the back. The program's annual Senior Day will be held prior to Monday evening's game against Valparaiso when the careers of Brown and fellow senior Devan Matkin will be celebrated.
Brown is YSU's career record holder in games started, free throws made and free throws attempted. She also ranks second in career points, and she is just 20 rebounds shy of breaking Wanda Grant's career rebounds record. One of the best players statistically in program history, Brown has led the women's basketball program's rebirth from a win less season her freshman year to 18 wins and counting this year.
Brown and the Penguins have a big three-game home stand in a five-day stretch coming up. YSU hosts UIC on Thursday at 7:05 p.m., Wright State on Saturday at 2:05 p.m., and Valparaiso on Monday at 7:05 p.m.
