One of the spring’s biggest surprises could well be athletic 6’7″ F/P Roderick Taylor of Killeen Harker Heights (TX). He’ll suit up in the live period this coming weekend with the Texas D1 Ambassadrs-Carlton as they head first to Big Shots Clemson Slam at Clemson SC (April 19-21) and then to the Great American Shootout in Duncanville TX (April 26-28).
Check the video below. It’s a ONE GAME highlight from the Texas Hoops Combine in Dallas last month where Taylor had 8 dunks in one game. He’s an excellent athlete who plays with a swagger. He runs the floor like a gazelle and other team’s bigs have a difficult time keeping up with him in transition.
Working with former Texas Longhorns big man, Rich McIvor, Taylor is now developing a reliable face up shot out to 15 feet, improving his footwork and perfecting a “baby hook” shot with either hand.
