our guys are playing good ball right now, we have a bye week and will be 100% come Nov. 9th against the Redbirds, something we have not been since Delaware St.

I'm guessing and hoping we will be coming into Youngstown 9-0 with a 18 game win streak 16 of those on the road, with a veteran team. that since 2010 has played its best football in Nov and Dec.

should be a great game

we dropped to #40 (because Northern Iowa & SDSU sucks so bad!)

NDSU is senior laden team, with 8 juniors that are straight up studs, these guys don't know how to lose!  Im being dead serious, ive seen these guys come from behind at least 10 times in the last 3 years and dominate the 4th quarter and win.

Conditioning and Physicality is why NDSU is soooo good.  (and great recruits!)

Not conditioning.  Depth.  YSU strength and conditioning is top notch.  NDSU wins games becuase they can plug in back-ups that are as capable as the starters, especially with their line play.

Right on power. It is just like watching YSU of 4 or 5 years ago. 10 starters up front on each side of the ball. They all play every game. Opponents dragging late in both halves. The Bison do close to the same, which of course is why NDSU can come back on people. Defenses are exhausted in the 4th quarter ...even late in Q2 for some of them.

IAA Fan.  what was your reply?

well, ok, Depth as well, but we all talk about how our conditioning is so great and other teams have hands on their knee's bending over.

yes YSU is 3-2 the last couple years v NDSU, hoping to even that up soon! :)

With proper clock management they could easily be 1-4, but that game they beat us last year was a real butt-whuppin'. :'(

He put the reply in the middle of mine I assume on accident.

Hands on hips is a depth issue in some cases. Means your starters cannot be rotated. Your team rotates all the time. That is needed to keep your best athletes fresh for the 4th qtr.

To which? I think it is a combination of both. Then again I am old-school.

Typical writer. No real respect. They have to "name drop" at least once a paragraph.  Bison, YSU was the toast of I-AA in the 1990's. From 1990-99  we saw the post season 7 times, 6 finals, and 4 titles.  We won 24 of 26 play-off games, including a streak of 21-straight post-season wins. Back then, coverage was network, not ESPN IV. Guess what?

The most coverage we had was Jim Tressel left to Ohio State. Media falling all over themselves to find the one sentence quote, that no one else had, from the once-great steel town. Suddenly, in 1999, we were a great football team even though we had the best record of any DI team over the last decade. The media called us the "the shining light a once great steel town" and "the new cradle of coaches" as our people filled up the Big-10, the Big-12 and the SEC.

Now we are a once great football team, looking to rekindle some fire. We were spoiled and we all know it. However, we have certainly learned humility over the past 5 to 10 years. Those of us here are fans, we love the game. We love our team. This team has the potential to do what ever it wants. Perhaps the best YSU team since 1996, perhaps even more. Right now, that goal is to be 1-0 every week for the next 4 weeks. Then comes the play-off and again it is win or go home. We Penguins fans would give up Thanksgiving dinner anytime for a chance to sit in the Ice Castle and cheer the team on to victory.

More than any other team, because of our storied past, we Guin fans can truly appreciate what NDSU has been able to do. So soak it up while you can and here is to seeing you here in Ytown. Here is to hoping it is a long trip home for the Bison ;)
