If you go to the media guide, Jeff Ryan holds the record for career rushing yards by a quarterback. Yeah - I was surprised too.
Total plays / rush yards / pass yards / total yards
1998 Jeff Ryan 285 364 1,036 1,400
1999 Jeff Ryan 482 638 2,573 3,211
2000 Jeff Ryan 343 349 1,416 1,765
2001 Jeff Ryan 298 521 1,201 1,722
I would think of Ray Isaac as the best dual threat quarterback I saw at YSU. Of course, with Tamron Smith and Darnell Clark running the ball, Isaac didn't have to run as much as he probably could have.
Total plays / rush yards / pass yards / total yards
1989 Ray Isaac 409 462 1,642 2,104
1990 Ray Isaac 315 355 1,597 1,952
1991 Ray Isaac 381 471 1,383 1,854
Keith Snoddy was another QB who I seem to recall being a threat to run the ball. Of course, that was long ago and my memory could be fuzzy.
1977 Keith Snoddy 243 290 832 1,122
1978 Keith Snoddy 328 463 1,332 1,795
1979 Keith Snoddy 316 349 1,623 1,972
Surprising to me, Tidwell did not have as many rushing yards as I thought
1996 Demond Tidwell 198 24 921 945
1997 Demond Tidwell 356 272 1,961 2,233
