Fan - you will often see the defender against the man with the ball put his hands on the offensive player, often called hand checking.
NCAA is trying to taking hand checking out of the game. I'm not sure of the specifics, but as a defender you can use your hands less, which should open up the game a lot more. Trying to increase scoring and get away from games that looked more like football that basketball.
I would think it is the type of change that should benefit YSU as a team that tries to play fast - but maybe not.
