Big Sky Conference
« on: December 07, 2013, 04:12:08 PM »
The Big sky got 4 teams in the playoffs. In week 1 two of their teams played. Both lost.

As I write this Montana is down 35-14 playing at home in below zero weather against coastal carolina.

How in the hell did that confeence get 4 teams in?  Can anyone explain that?

They still have another game today. They could lose all 4 teams in their first games.

We are clearly better than some of the teams that got in in their conference.

Here is a FINAL score from the remaining Big Sky game:

Eastern Washington 41
South Dakota State 17

If the Big Sky is such a weak conference, what does it say about the 2nd place team from the MVFC losing to Eastern Washington by such a large margin. And, given SDSU destroyed YSU in Youngstown, how could anyone think YSU would win a 2nd round playoff game? YSU likely would have won a 1st round game, then got beat by 10 or more points in round 2.

Complain all you want, YSU did not deserve to be in the playoffs. The team and coaches played and coached their way OUT of the playoffs

The MVC is obviously a top conference. HOWEVER , until NDSU joined and won two titles the last was won by Western Kentucky over a decade ago. Say what you want but the MVC has underachieved in the playoffs for years. YSU did not deserve to make the playoffs. End of story. And there is no anti-YSU or MVC conspiracy because other than the 100 core fans for each team, nobody even knows these games are being played.

Turnovers. I watched the game. Eastern washington is a good team but the To's killed SdsU. They stripped the ball several times

SDSU turned it over twice EW once, turnovers did not dictate the spanking the bunnies got.

3 of the 4 big sky teams lost their 1st game, hard to justify them having all 4 teams in, they did not deserve to be in. If 4 mvc schools had made it and 3 lost like that we would never hear the end of it.

YSU and uni would have fared better.
