This thread has gotten somewhat ridiculous. YSU beating South Dakota was by no means a great win. But, it was a win over a D1 program that has played a fairly competitive schedule. YSU was favored to win, and expected to win. And, if they cannot beat South Dakota at home, then YSU has little chance of having a winning record in the HL.

For what it's worth, YSU has an RPI of 168.... South Dakota 268.... things get much tougher this weekend, when YSU plays at UWM(RPI 114) and GB(RPI 68)

Wright State(291) is the only team left on the schedule with a lower RPI than South Dakota, but they have beat 3 D1 teams in a row, including UMKC and seem to be playing better of late. They have also been a major thorn in the side of YSU throught the series history. As of now, all but 4 of the remaining games for YSU will be against teams with an RPI of 178 or better. UIC is at 243. So, not sure beating South Dakota at home does anything to prove YSU is a legit contender in the HL.
