We just won the first game, 3-2, by scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh.  Good start, but at 6:30 we have to face the #1 seed with our number 2 pitcher....unless Crozier can throw again on short rest.

Softball is not like baseball. Pitchers pitch. She is a real workhorse. Pitched back-to-back last year.

Softball Falls to Top-Seeded Green Bay, 5-2

Fairborn, Ohio -- Green Bay's Ashley Nanneman allowed just two hits and the Youngstown State softball team fell to the top-seeded Phoenix, 5-2, on Wednesday evening at the Wright State Softball Field.

With the loss the Penguins fall to 30-23 and will face UIC in an elimination game, Thursday, at 1:30 p.m.

After three scoreless innings, the Phoenix used a four-run fourth to take a 4-0 lead.

Senior Samantha Snodgrass led off the top of the fifth with a solo home run to get the Penguins on the board and Katie Smallcomb's RBI ground out in the top of the sixth cut the lead in half, 4-2. Smallcomb had the Penguins only other hit.

Green Bay tacked on a run in the bottom half of the sixth for the game's final run.

Too bad ...I felt that we needed to go 2-0 yesterday to have a real shot at the title. Now we will just have to do it the hard way ...GO GUINS!!

Too bad season ended today. Not enough offense. Still a solid season.
