This was before all the chairbacks were installed on the top of the one side, but Malutic posted this on X:

Speaking of KentThey have no choice. Their football budget is nearly double that of YSU's:
5. Kent State v. No. 7 Tennessee: $1.35 million
Kent State is racking up the earnings this year and honestly, good for them. The Golden Flashes were paid $1.1 million to lose 55-24 to Pittsburgh in Week 2 and will get $1.6 million when they travel to No. 8 Penn State next week. All said, Kent State will earn just over $4 million to start 0-4 this season.
Game Day and not much chatter . Go Guins!!!We need to see a complete 4 quarters this week. The second half of Nova and Valpo have been encouraging, but thus far the 2nd quarter in particular we have looked rough. Beautiful weather and no Ohio State. Hoping for a nice crowd and a big win!
I was trying to see where the game will be aired. ESPN site is saying Flosports. I've never heard of it have any of you?The CAA has a deal with FLOSports to broadcast all of their games. Unfortunately that means this game will not be streamed on ESPN+. The only way to watch it is to purchase a subscription from FLOSports, but I am not sure if you can purchase a single game or if you need to purchase an entire month. This is a CAA issue and not a YSU issue, as I know some of you will find blame with YSU for this one.
I agree. Behind as usual. Where is the sense of urgency with this athletic department? Volleyball season is just weeks away. They had workers in there removing seats and starting all the other work immediately after Spring Commencement. It is evident there were delays on the vendor side that would have delayed the installation. It appears things are on track to begin installing so it will be exciting to watch the progress in the coming weeks.
Agree with you here. With the mass defections (players and DC) from a defense that was statistically weak, I am eager to see what this revamped defense with a lot of new talent via the portal can bring. They did look better in the spring game, especially against the pass.Coach sounded very positive. Not sure if he has an alternative but it's year 5 for Phillips and there is no room for excuses as there was when he took over for Pelini. I'm concerned about all the guys on defense that transferred and most when to a higher conference which leads to ask did the transfer portal make up for those defenders that left ?
We did pick up quite a few new defenders from the portal. They came from P4, G5, and DII programs. I thought that our defense stunk last year, except for the home game against Southern Illinois and, ironically, the game in Columbus. Hard to see how the new guys could be much worse, and they might actually be considerably better.
I did not see the spring game, but some suggested that the hitting was good and that our defensive backs were actually guarding the receivers. What a refreshing change that would be.
hof222,Now now Wick... don't be hating on soccer!
The baseball coach has been let go. I have heard absolutely nothing about a possible replacement.
Go,
The Horizon League mandates that all schools participate in men's basketball and either baseball or men's soccer. A replacement for baseball would have to be soccer, which I would personally consider to be an atrocity. However, soccer has a smaller roster size. That sport requires virtually no equipment, and we have our own facility. Financially it probably makes sense to replace baseball with soccer, much as I despise that stupid sport.
