YSU Penguin Athletics / Bob Davie has health issue

New Mexico opened its 2019 season with a 39-31 win over Sam Houston State, but a scary situation followed shortly after the game ended. Lobos coach Bob Davie was taken away from Dreamstyle Stadium in Albuquerque in an ambulance. The Albuquerque Journal reported that Davie was dealing with what was believed to be chest pains.

"Immediately following tonight's football game between the University of New Mexico and Sam Houston State University, Lobos head coach Bob Davie was taken to the hospital as a result of what appeared to be a serious medical incident," athletic director Eddie Nuñez said in a statement.

The school updated the status of Davie late Saturday night.
"On behalf of the Davie family, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Coach Davie is doing well and recovering, he is surrounded by family and your continued thoughts, prayers, and privacy are greatly appreciated during this time," the statement read.

I can't believe Mt Union let their quarterback play with a warrant for his arrest in Florida.  He does not have to appear until Dec. 20th so he can keep on playing.  Guess it is all about winning.  These kids sure get in a lot of trouble.
