Sitting at 6-2 with the need to go 3-1 down the stretch to get into the playoffs (with our poor non conference schedule, 4 losses wont get us in, last season is proof)

Assuming we beat USD that means we need to beat 2 of NDSU, ISUb, and ISUr

which 2 do you think is most likely ?

A must win for the program to get into the playoffs and great team game. My only problem/concern is Wolfords use of timeouts but he has always had this problem and it will never change. Other then this the coaching was good. Wells was coached up and make some great decisions (and got away with a couple of mistakes) The Defensive Line played extremely well and our Safety play helped keep the RB is check. great game all around

Wins over SIU and SDSU prove that we can win the big games---the team does seem a lot more confident now. Many of our starters are Freshmen and Sophomores so the future is looking brighter.Sure hope there is no let down against South Dakota.

That SIU win not looking so impressive (see what they are doing vs ISUb right now)

We were getting pressure on their QB all half. Zenner has been held in check. Make some adjustments and we can win this!

So your saying all hope is gone ?

How the larger school's missed out on this kid I will never know. Credit Our coaching staff on picking up on what others didn't. I believe there was a quarterback named Joe Flacco who went to  Delaware. .just saying I see some similarities in the two. .factor in the drops today he only had 4 incomplete passes..simply incredible in those less then favorable weather conditions..yes I do feel Y.S.U. has their future Qb

Flacco went to pitt and then transfered to delaware when he couldnt beat out Tyler Palko at QB

Nick Siciliano or Stan Drayton

I see the job going to one of these 2

i have no issue with Mark Mangino, he won at kansas so he can win at YSU, not the biggest fan of his offensive style but to each their own

He needs to be a good recruiter and preferably a power run, emphasis on both offensive and defensive line type coach

The O left a lot of points on the field. TD called back for holding, missed field goal and tipped pass for an interception in the red zone. Score should have been at least 27-0 and everyone is happy today :)

no the offense left alot more points on the field then that. It should have been 28-0 at the half

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: YSU- Stubbs or Bryan?
« on: October 04, 2014, 03:15:25 PM »
Is there a reason why we do not throw the ball to either Stubbs or Bryan? No drags or anything..?  Seems like we struggle after our first read on the offensive side of the ball. After the first minute of the game today I was excited as we scored in 3 plays and attacked, then it went back to the typical bullsh**. Great game though defensively though!  fb fb Go Guins, nice to be 4-1 at least.

It could be: Nadia was too short to see over the OL and Stubbs & Bryan were too short to be seen by Nadia.

During the game today on 5 yard curls to the outside he would stare down the reciever and then almost get picked off (the CB is 5 yards away from the reciever when the ball is thrown and they were jumping the pass and almost had 2 or 3 pick 6s because of it)

He has too weak an arm to throw the ball deep or to the outside reciever

sure you complain about an outside run ...now you complain about runs up the middle. Make up your mind. Unable to get a single first-down is purely execution. Just like the rest of the bonehead offensive execution all day. Is it on the OC, yes it has to be, but we all know better than that.

the OC gets the blame because he goes with a QB who cant throw the ball more then 10 yards which limits the offense and allows the defense to put 9 in the box and stop the run

Wells or Davis need to be the QB because Nania is not a MVFC caliber QB

Strollo has hired and given this program a staff that should be considered as "ON THE JOB TRAINING"....  No disclipline, lack of leadership, ZERO vision...... Regardless of the outcome of this game these qualities will continue to reappear in 2014....

Cant wait for tressel to fix the football program
