Nice to beat UNI. I've always said "IF" YSU goes 1-11 as long as the 1 W was against UNI it was a good season.. Well, why don't it feel good

Crazy how the Defense played well enough to win. Offense was offensive. Crazy how BB gets a lot of the blame but the games I watched the O-Line is crap. TODAY on a 3 man front on several occasions by the time the ball was snapped and BB received it he had one or two of the three defenders within 5 feet of him. 3 yards and a cloud of dust is all this line is good for. I've said it before a young Tom Brady wouldn't have good passing stats with these guys pass protecting for him.

A classic game. Well-deserved and needed win.
Besides the 2 blow out games and the Duquesne loss (hungry team that look good) YSU isn't in shambles'
If they had some DB's and safety's that could find a ball or a player with a different color jersey this season would be a bit different.
For the Bo haters he's a man among boys. When YSU has a Oline that can pass protect for a long shot down field I'm sure he can deliver.
Overall, well done team... GooooooGuins!

Well, my disappointments:
1. Defense.. I was hopeful they'd jell. Watching their performance the last 6 games I can only say slow undersized clueless pussies without any direction. The mass exodus last year, I wasn't too concerned with the loss with the exception of 3 or 4 players. Replacing the D coordinator, I also thought it could be a plus.. WRONG!
2. Offense.. that experienced Oline is a huge disappointment. I get it. The QB is weak, but I'm not sure a young Tom Brady would be successful behind it. Run production is a problem with a stacked box, but no protection is provided for passing hell, Valpo pressured the Guins.
3. Coaching.. what can we say here, is this the best money can buy. Who would want to coach in the MVFC conference against UNI, xDSUs, and xDUs.. recruiting here is too competitive, given the xfer portal and NIL in play. If YSU doesn't step it up and get big money for better players, talent this type of team is the norm. DP has the right tools as far as character and mindset, rubbing off the kids but coaching them up to actually play, wowsa!!. We'll see how or if they will use that to build on.
4. Fan base.. has gone away with the 90s glory years. I love the loyal tailgate group I hang with Paul and Tammy are beyond the best ever. POaS and his group are 1st class also. After that, the YSU fan base is clueless armchair QBs, and the student section has no interest at all in what is going on the field and what little shows up. No fans no team.
This will be my last post on YSU Football for a negative reaction. What else is there to say? I've said my piece on what I've witnessed. I'm hopeful that my 6-6 is still obtainable. Will be lucky to be 4-8 now.

Plus us being in the prairie dog conference destroyed any momentum this program had from those ancient championships. Kids want exposure and want to be D1 athletes. The MAC may be a bottom D1 but for exposure they have way more than 95% of FCS. Now with NIL teams like YSU will lose talent more then they can develop or acquire. I have heard for 20 years how you all said the MAC was done. Lol they are still kicking. Strollo is alot to blame on this. He is a great bean counter but no vision on where of what direction our football team should be. We can’t afford top assistants which was never addressed as long as I can remember. If Phillips doesn’t last you would have to be an idiot to come here without the dollars to get good assistants. Our program is dying a slow death year by year. But hey we are u. FCS and in the MCFC as 4K are. I the stands and we are everyone’s homecoming game. It just pisses me off what could have been and achieved with a different thought process at the top.
I agree Go. I wonder why Coach/Ad/President Tressel let it die. With his political power and influence in Ohio you'd think he save what he created. NIL, and Transfer portal will kill all right with kids wanting to compete in a college Saturday stadium with no aspirations of moving on to the next level.

Tressel, attendance, the 90’s OH MY!!! To be clear on some of the posts, Heacock got us in the playoffs once in ‘06. The Wolf couldn’t win in November let alone win enough to make the playoffs.
Funny how no one mentions big BP much. You talk sooo much about kids coaching kids but fail to remember what HIS staff consisted of. Maybe it’s NOT about inexperienced staff or the lack of money but rather, we just haven’t found another Tressel. Hate to break it to ya…we probably wont. JT, attendance AND the 90’s were an anomaly. Not likely to happen again. Look at the crumble happening in NDSU. And look at the attendance at Nova. If memory serves me, I heard 5k fans? And what did we have the week before, 3,500? Man…that’s a helluva margin. What’s that tell you? ITS. NOT. JUST. YSU. And who said NDSU attendance is even falling? And they’re only a COUPLE years removed from their dynasty.
Hate to break THIS to you also. IF we happen to be ranked top 10 this year, I’d say that’s not too shabby, actually.
Look, I get it…I want to be a power house. I wish the 90’s never happened as even I want that again.
I’d say, be satisfied with the very small incremental progress we have made over the last few years and go to church. Cuz ain’t too many more flags gonna be hung without some prayer and another anomaly.

BB rushed for 129 YDS on 28 attempts for a 4.6 yds average and 3 TD's. Passed for 108 yds 14-20 with 1 INT.
Hell, King only averaged 5.4 yds per rush.
So, we can conclude that his rushing numbers are decent considering everybody including Stevie Wonder knew he was running the ball as he entered the game. Passing was 70% completion rate in a limited role throwed into a game.
Bottom line: I'm hoping he's cut from cloth his dad is (best QB ever to play at YSU) and be a winner without the crazy record-breaking stats that hasn't won sh** from the previous QB's everyone went gaga for!
Transfer portal project QB will be a disgrace and hopefully we'll see BB hit the xfer portal.
