The experience, athleticism and teamwork in the secondary has shown through this spring. This unit, and their very strong backups, intercepted three last Saturday. In addition, they dropped one interception and took one of the INT's to the house. How long has it been since you saw that many take-aways in a 50 play sequence? By the way, our line-backing corp is attacking and disrupting on just about every play. They get to their hook and flat zones much better this year. The secondary defense should not be in question this year.  Now, let's eliminate the occasional mental breakdown and this could be the best secondary we have seen in sometime.

Okay, Pizza, no attempt to remain anonymous. I will always call it the way I see it, even if it involves my own. There is never an attempt to mislead, but I love the penguins and will let those on this site know what I see since they may not be able to do so themselves. I don't have the longevity of most of you, but hope to always remain a staunch supporter of the Guins even after mine moves on.

In addition, I am attempting to increase the noise around this years' squad. They look very, very good and everyone should be ramping up their enthusiasm. Go Guins!

Wolf has said in an interview that he feels this OL will surprise us all. He even intimated that they may be better than last year. They are more athletic, more mobile, a tad smaller, but just as strong. Strickland is big and mobile! He seems to "get" offense but needs to learn a lot. Without the freshmen, and now Sinko, we are a little lean in depth at tackle.

The left side of the line looks solid, especially with Elkins at center. Bryant is big and is very athletic as we saw last year. Herdman was the #3 guard last year and backed up an all conference first teamer and a guy that we hope we will see in the NFL in the fall. Herdman is very aggressive and athletic and is knocking a lot of people down.  Bell and Colucci are to backing up the left side, but there is a lot of interchanging of positions on the second team. Time will shake this out.  Eisenhuth is backed up by Harris at RG and that seems to be an on-going battle for the starting spot. The young guys need to learn the offense and when they do...look out!

I will give a more in depth report on the DL after Saturday's scrimmage.

Both lines look big, very mobile and athletic.  The offense seems to be ahead of the defense, especially on run plays. The pass rush is much improved in that the quickness on the edges is noticeably better.

The first unit OL is: LT-Bryant, LG-Herdman, C-Elkins, RG-Eisenhuth, RT-Strickland (Sinko is out with a broken collarbone).

The DL rotated frequently with DE-Cox, Coleman, Rivers, Myers and DT-Moss, Kromah, Brown and Zaborsky.
