Good win. No way they were thinking of firing him and buying out the contracts of him and his staff.

Does the school administration and trustees care enough to buy out the contracts? I highly doubt it. They have been crying poor since my brother played 25 years ago.

The QB is not the problem. The problem is they have a stable of possession type receivers and no downfield threat. Spring football is where you see what other players can do. If they were better in any facet of the game they would be playing. If Brungard gets benched for a “tryout” at his position, he should enter the transfer portal while he is talking to the coach. He’s the only player that they really have that has played well all year.

That type of coaching resume is exactly what you’ll get if you continue to pay the lowest salaries. Just economic facts.

Basically YSU is attempting to play D1 sports with a D2 budget. Clearly not working.

Some people might say that Narduzzi holding a 40 year grudge is as odd as some fans still being upset that Kent and Akron didn’t want YSU in the MAC.

That said, those upset that Phillips hugged Narduzzi maybe aren’t aware that that both graduated high school about the same time and are part of a very small and exclusive club. They’ve probably been friends for decades.

Unfortunately style points play into bowls and post season selections. Especially now that the playoff is expanded. And if you don’t want me to score, stop me.

YSU should play Pitt every year. Wish my Nova team would play Temple every year since we recruit the same players.

But , does the school community at large really care about the football team success? Or all sports for that matter.
Do they care enough to invest properly in athletics?

Realistically speaking, NIL and the free transfers have made FCS a very inferior product and on the verge of irrelevance.

YSU gave up 11 yards a rush. Quite possible that Pitt still would have scored running. If the team winning has their subs in they have zero obligation to dial it back and not run their normal plays.

YSU has been selling a bill of goods for a quarter century with the “we have no money” BS. If they really wanted to improve the sports programs, they would find it. What we’re seeing is the results of low coach pay, low recruiting budgets, etc. it has created a product that is inferior in most sports. It’s sad because there is a huge alumni base that would love and support a better product on the field.

Goodnews you are 100% correct. The CAA is a shell of itself. Almost embarrassing the teams that are now in that conference. If the Dakotas follow it could be the same for the MVFC.

Sadly it would seem that FCS football is on death’s doorstep. Recent teams moving to FBS is only the beginning. Whether we want to believe it or not, the MAC is a better place for kids to play than FCS. It doesn’t matter that the top couple of teams in FCS could beat them regularly, it is D1 FBS. Period. FCS is basically a farm system at this point, with minimal interest except for a handful of schools.

Realistically this level of D1 basketball is a stepping stone for coaches and players to bigger and better places. Watching the tournament teams have many kids that have transferred in from the mid majors and I’m sure the same is true for coaches.

Sadly the FCS championship will have to compete with NFL tomorrow at 2:00. I can’t imagine what that game’s audience will be.

Very, very small. They should move it to the middle of bowl season. If you’re not an FCS fan or a fan of the 2 teams no one cares at this point.

Very true. It all depends on if they can make money off of you.
