Hot take, I think Beau actually looked pretty good considering it was Pitt's defense. Also Narduzzi said himself in the presser after the game he couldn't run up the score the last two times because they didn't have the horses on offense those times.

YSUpride, I am hoping to see YSU defense look fundamentally sound and shut down Duquense offense this week... given what happened last week I would not be surprised if Duquense manages to score a bit on us, but I hope they don't do it with the efficiency that Valpo did in Q2. I would prefer a game that is not in doubt by halftime so that our backups can get some time in.

Well, this week isn't necessarily an exciting opponent for the fan base, but it is an important type of opponent to schedule especially given last week. This should be a good "get right" game. I hope that YSU manages to get up big early, then get lots of game reps for the 2nd and 3rd string to develop depth but I do want the starters to all be doing the right things.

Alright, I know this is a YSU fan board, and this is an OSU / Akron game comment, but still think it is relevant for what I'm about to say: it was encouraging to see a Buckeyes team very similar to last year's team, beat Akron by a significant margin more than they did YSU just last year. 52-6 is a bigger shellacking than 35-7.

I don't think the competition is completely over... I think that when we switch from camp to Nova week here (this week) the decision will be made. I am not 100% sure though, haven't heard anything in a little bit. Last I heard I think Beau was just slightly ahead of the other two, and the competition was tight.
