Let me start by saying regardless of who our coach is/ was I feel like pulling the trigger too early is the biggest mistake a program can make.   The job of a coach in today's college football is very difficult especially at fcs level in MVFC.  That being said 7-4 has to be the minimum expectation next year.  That should get us in the playoffs. Anything less than that a major coaching shakeup would be fair game.  7-4 may sound like low expectations however with the meat grinder of a conference and a money game that would be a good showing.

Alot of good points:
My 2 cents:
1) D needs to improve a lot.  We need to hold teams below 21 to give our offense a chance.  We need to eliminate big plays.  I said this after last year to one of our new safety's who didn't play due to being hurt. We obviously did terrible at this.   I will say I believe we improved from week one to week 12 but still not close to where we need to be.   On 3rd and 10 we should almost never allow a first down.
2) offense needs to backfill the linemen we are losing and rb's however I believe we have some talent there already that we can develop.  I'm looking forward to seeing Gardner from Niles.  I heard he was really good.  We also need at least 2 more receivers with one being a speedster.
3) As far as a coaching change it would be great to have a more experienced d coordinator if there is one available however in fairness to our staff this year with all the turnover on d it was clearly difficult. Not sure what I would do if it was my call although I can say this.  I do not support rebuilding just to rebuild.
4) transfer portal- let's see if the team is stabilized and we don't lose players like last year.  Did we lose players because our coordinator left.   I don't know however we can't continue to lose players we have developed and improve.   This is one of the most important keys in my mind.
5) QB   i think we will be fine.  Coaches should help brungard be more of a pass first QB and speed up his reads slightly.    If he continues to improve he will be an asset.  Not many qb's as athletic as him.

I agree pride.  I feel like we said the same thing only with different spinsqq. I strongly feel out d needs to improve a lot to compete for a championship. Our d needs to improve a little for us to be a playoff team.  We need to compete Aagainst ndsu and SDSU.  We also need to win on the road.  That being said I don't think we are too far off. Btw, the other big question mark is who will we lose in the portal.  We will see.

To put things in perspective.  This season did not go as planned however it is definitely not all doom and gloom.  With a young QB that has shown consistent improvement all year and a young defense that has improved but needs to improve much more we will probably end the season 6 th or 7th in MVFC.  We will be 6 if ISU loses to UNI this week which is possible. I feel teams 1-5 would get in the playoffs however with Missouri State not eligible it will be 4 from MVFC.  Also as we look at the individual losses USD, ISU, MOST were all close winnable games and all of those teams are in playoff position right now.  This is with our d playing very poor especially early in the year.  Throw in the SUI and Duquesne games which we definitely should  have won and we would've talking playoffs. Btw, Duquesne will probably be a playoff team again.  They have not lost since they played us.  We truly are only 5 plays from being 9-3.  Just to add fuel to this logic I believe 2 of those games when MVFC reviewed refereeing they said the wrong call was made late in the game in favor of our opponent. Go guins

Actually thought today was the best crowd we have had for a while on our last game.  Even last year with playoffs on the line our final regular season game attendence was bad.  Today seemed ok considering.  I think noon games are the hardest to get to.

Brungards best game for ysu.   Late on a few passes but overall a very good game.  2 of his 5 incompletions were drops.   Defense was up and down has they have been all year.  Special teams played bad except the blocked punt.  Proud of the boys.  A lot to build on.

It's fair to blame coaching staff for the loss today obviously there will be adjustments but changing coaches is not the answer.  It is a process. Who is the better coach available?  Dusquesne's coach has been there over 20 years.  Stability has lead to a successful program.  Our inexperience on defense is our problem and has been all season.  Brungard inexperience has been his weakness.    Let's see how we do it the portal.  We have a lot of young talent that will only get better unless we panic and do something stupid like switching coaches at this point.   That's the difference between the browns organization and the Steelers.

I wish the broadcast let us know what down it is.  They never say.

Good drive,  Ate time and went back up by 2 scores.  I think Bo is struggling reading off corners or safeties.  They are jumping routes and that is what led to both picks.

They get the ball to start 2nd half.   They have momentum now with two scores at the end of half. Thank God for the 2 point fumble return.   Halftime adjustments is all it takes.  Something we tend to struggle at.  But 18 point lead seems unlikely.   I hope
. I agree. I hate to see them get some confidence.  We need to get a 3 and out to start the 2nd half and a long time consuming drive and get at least 3

Not a good way to end the half.
