The 2011-12 basketball appears pretty weak!!

We play 8 of our first 11 games away. Two of the home games are with Notre Dame College (Ohio) and Fredonia St., why give the home base fans such poor competition? We're supposely improving our schedule; ha ha. :'(

The fans need one or two good opponents at home every year, all the other Horizon teams do. Our we too cheap to draw or pay for some top 50 teams or at  least teams we have heard of?

Anyway; good luck penguin basketball.

Piss poor home schedule leads to 10 wins at most again.  Great job Mr. Strollo.   Notre Dame College should pack Beeghly Center for sure.

We are in this really bad situation.  We have few fans and can't generate money to pay a guarantee to any team that our few fans actually care about.  I have this reaction to this schedule.  First, the two junk games are an absolute embarrassment.  I certainly will not be in attendance for either one.  Second, notice that we are going to Akron again.  There is no way a Horizon League school schedules anything less than a home-home with a MAC opponent.

Pride, your opinion about the capability of Ron Strollo is well known and I don't disagree with it.  But I really doubt that he has anything to do with arranging the basketball schedule.  The junk games almost certainly are the responsibility of the head coach, another one of your heroes if I recall correctly :P

Wick250, Akron & Penn State are huge money games for us (I am not at liberty at this moment to tell you the amount).  We can not and should not turn down any money game offered, that we can certainly transport ourselves to.

Normally there are two money road games scheduled that are almost guaranteed losses (have a shot at beating Akron this year), so two home games are scheduled which should be guaranteed wins. Seems to me that's a fair trade. 5 years from now we'll only remember the W-L record, not who we played. And many, many schools are doing the same. UW-Green Bay just released their schedule and they have home games against the University of Mary (Joseph must be busy that night) and Michigan Tech. They balance that with road games at Virginia, Marquette, and Wisconsin. So we are not alone.

Penn St I can see, but a big money game from the zits surprises me, would not have thought that they could afford a big payout.

Good point Guinpen. Where is Akron coming up with the money for a big payout (and they are), especially when their football program is in the sh*tter and hemorrhaging  money left and right??
