Baseball team will play in Notre Dame's Irish Classic to be played in Cary NC early next season.

Penguins will play Appalachain State, Notre Dame and North Carolina State.  Others in the field are defending National Champion UCLA and Michigan.

The tournament will be  held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.

Seems like a nice opportunity for the team to get to play some games in a great facility against some top level teams.

NC State qualified for the College World Series last year and have the overwhelming favorite to be the top MLB draft choice in June in pitcher Carlos Rondon.

Realistically YSU doesn't see Rondon.  We likely see the #4 or #5 from NC State and Notre Dame, but still going to be a great challenge.

Good call Indy, we will see guy's who are pushing to be the "weekday" starters for when conference season starts.  Those weekday starters for teams however are the ones that end up carrying the teams during the end of most conference tournaments.
