He would have been gone regardless. He ended up 3rd on the depth chart by the end of the year. I wish him the best.

We are in good hands with Wells and Davis IMHO.

Then he should go anyways.  It's about the team, not about him.

Actually there are hundreds of QBs available  to be recruited. YSU just needs one that can pass, is good on his feet and can make decisions quickly.............

Remember that any players that transfer must sit out one year, unless they leave for programs on the D2 or D3 level.  And if any players leave YSU for those lower levels, could they have really helped us in the first place?

Our players should just wait until the new staff is in place.  They might actually like them.  Leaving before they have the opportunity to impress the new coaches in the spring makes no sense.

It's all going to depend on what type of team the new coach wants to have. I think our star players are safe.

Too early to even worry about these things yet. You all know my high regard for Montgomery ..I would give him the keys tomorrow. However, I understand why the university would not want anyone currently associated and that the new coach (even if it is coach M) will want his own. You also have to think that Wolf has offers and needs a qualified staff and coach M's numbers would have most AD's salivating. (Wolf is no dummy) Wells may want to stick with coach M (and vice verse).

I have to believe that the kid is wise enough to talk to whomever the new coach and OC are before he would make such a move.

RICKY DAVIS IS GOING NOWHERE! He loves his school and his teammates. That being said, Dante is a very good friend of Ricky's and he understands why he left. We wish Dante and his family the very best!
